Quick Document Checklist
Five groups of paperwork cover most applications. Tick each group off as you gather it. Not every document listed on this page applies to every applicant, so treat this as a preparation guide rather than a fixed list.

Your ticks are only a visual aid on this page. They are not saved anywhere and will clear when you reload.
Identity Documents
You may need to show who you are and how old you are. Aadhaar is the document most commonly used for this, and it also matters later because payments are usually made to an Aadhaar-linked account. Where applicable, a second document may be requested to confirm your date of birth.
- Aadhaar cardCommonly requiredThe main identity document for most welfare applications. Check that your name and date of birth on it are correct before you apply.
- Proof of ageWhere applicableA birth certificate, school leaving certificate or similar document, if your age needs separate confirmation.
- Recent photographCommonly requiredA clear, recent passport-style photograph of the applicant.
- Signed declaration or application formWhere applicableApplicants are usually asked to sign a declaration confirming that the information given is true.
Do not upload, type or send your Aadhaar through this website. There is no upload form anywhere on this site. Aadhaar is shown or submitted only at official application points, such as the official portal, an Anganwadi centre, a Setu centre or a ward office.
Maharashtra Residency Documents
Because this is a state scheme, you may need proof supporting Maharashtra residency or domicile where required. Any one document from the list below is usually enough, and offices differ in what they prefer, so ask locally before you spend time and money collecting papers.
- Domicile certificateWhere applicableThe most direct proof of residency. Usually obtained through Aaple Sarkar or your local revenue office.
- Ration cardWidely accepted, and it also shows the members of your household.
- Voter ID cardAccepted in many cases as proof of an address in the state.
- School or birth recordsDepending on circumstancesA birth certificate or school leaving certificate showing a Maharashtra address is sometimes accepted where a domicile certificate is not available.
If you were born outside Maharashtra but live here now, do not assume you are excluded. Ask which document your centre accepts in your situation. Our eligibility page explains the residency condition in more detail.
Income Documents
Income is assessed for the family as a whole rather than for you alone, so the proof usually asked for is a family income certificate. The exact proof accepted, and how recent it must be, can depend on current government instructions and on the office handling your application.
- Family income certificateCommonly requiredIssued through Aaple Sarkar or the local revenue office, usually by the Tehsildar. Apply for it early, as it can take time.
- Ration cardWhere applicableIn some cases a ration card is used as supporting evidence of household category and members.
- Self-declarationDepending on circumstancesSome processes allow a signed declaration of income alongside or instead of a certificate. Confirm what your centre accepts.
Certificates can carry a validity period, and an expired certificate is one of the most common reasons paperwork is sent back. Check the issue date before you submit, and confirm the currently accepted proof through official channels rather than relying only on this page.
Bank Information
Assistance is transferred directly to a bank account, so you may need to provide bank details as part of the official application. The account should normally be in your own name and linked with Aadhaar, because a missing link is a common reason for a payment to fail even after approval.
- Bank passbook or statementCommonly requiredThe first page of a passbook, showing the account holder name, is often requested at the official application point.
- Aadhaar linking confirmationYour branch can confirm whether the account is linked and enabled for direct benefit transfer, and complete it if it is not.
- Account in the applicant nameWhere applicableA joint or family member account is generally not a substitute for an account in your own name.
This website never asks for your bank account number, Aadhaar number, OTP or password. Our eligibility checker only asks whether your account is linked, and it works out the answer inside your own browser.
Applicant-Specific Documents
Depending on your circumstances, additional supporting documents may apply. These are not required from everyone. The list below shows the situations where something extra is commonly requested, without stating what any particular office will accept.
- Married applicantsWhere applicableA marriage certificate, or a ration card showing the household, may be requested where marital status needs support.
- Widowed applicantsWhere applicableA death certificate of the husband is commonly requested as supporting proof.
- Divorced applicantsWhere applicableDocumentation of the divorce may be requested. Your centre can tell you what form it should take.
- Abandoned or deserted applicantsDepending on circumstancesLocal authorities usually explain what evidence is acceptable, as this varies. Ask at your Anganwadi, Setu or ward office rather than assuming.
- Other circumstancesDepending on circumstancesIf your situation does not fit neatly into a category, describe it at the application point. We do not list requirements we cannot support with official information.
Document Preparation Tips
Most delays come from small paperwork problems rather than from eligibility. These five habits prevent the majority of them.
-
01
Keep documents readable
Faded, torn or badly photocopied papers get rejected. If a document is hard to read, get a fresh copy before you go.
-
02
Make sure names and details match
Your name, date of birth and address should read the same across Aadhaar, bank records and certificates. Even a spelling difference can hold up a payment.
-
03
Check document validity
Some certificates expire. Look at the issue date on your income and domicile certificates and renew anything that is out of date.
-
04
Keep copies where appropriate
Carry originals for verification and keep spare photocopies. Note down where each original is kept so nothing goes missing.
-
05
Verify the latest official requirements
Document lists are updated from time to time. Confirm the current list at your centre or on the official portal before you begin collecting.
Common Mistakes
These five problems account for most applications that are returned or delayed.
-
Incorrect information
Details entered in a hurry, or copied wrongly from a document, do not match the records they are checked against.
-
Unreadable documents
Dark, blurred or cropped copies cannot be verified, so the paperwork comes back and the process starts again.
-
Missing supporting documents
The main documents are brought but the situation-specific one is forgotten, which means a second trip.
-
Outdated information
An expired certificate, an old address or a closed bank account will each stop an otherwise valid application.
-
Using unofficial websites
Applications and document uploads belong on official channels only. Any site or caller asking for money, Aadhaar numbers or OTPs in the name of this scheme should be treated as a fraud attempt.
Important Warning
Do not send your Aadhaar number, OTP, password or bank account information to this website.
We never ask for them, there is no form on this website that collects them, and nobody from this website will ever contact you to request them. Share such details only at official application points. If anyone asks for an OTP or a fee in the name of this scheme, do not share anything and report it locally.

Document Questions
Most applicants are asked for proof of identity and age, proof of Maharashtra residence, a family income certificate, bank account details linked with Aadhaar, a recent photograph and a signed declaration. Additional supporting documents may apply depending on your circumstances. The exact list is decided by the authorities and can differ by district, so confirm it at your centre.
Aadhaar is the identity document most commonly used for welfare applications, and it also matters because payments are usually made to an Aadhaar-linked account. Where you are unsure how it applies in your case, ask at the official application point. Never share your Aadhaar number with an unofficial website, including this one.
A domicile certificate, ration card or voter ID is commonly used. In some cases a birth certificate or school leaving certificate showing a Maharashtra address is accepted instead. Because practice varies between districts, ask your Anganwadi, Setu or ward office what they accept before collecting anything.
Income certificates are normally issued through Aaple Sarkar or your local revenue office. Apply early, because issuing can take time and an application without the certificate may be held up. Check the issue date too, since some offices ask for a recently issued certificate.
Payments are made to the applicant, so an account in your own name is normally expected, and it should be linked with Aadhaar. An account belonging to a husband or another family member is generally not a substitute. Your bank branch can open or update an account and confirm the Aadhaar linking for you.
It can be. Records are matched automatically in many systems, so a difference between your Aadhaar, your bank account and your certificates can delay verification or a payment. It is worth correcting the mismatch first at the issuing office or your bank branch, rather than applying and waiting for a problem.
No, and you cannot. This is an independent informational website with no upload form and no application facility. Documents are submitted only through official channels. If any website claiming to handle this scheme asks you to upload documents or pay a fee, treat it as a fraud attempt.
Yes. Document requirements are set by the authorities and are revised from time to time, and individual districts sometimes accept alternatives. This page describes what is commonly asked for, not a fixed official list. Where this page and the official information differ, the official information is correct.
